The Oswego Hotel cares about our environmental impacts and believes in community involvement. Learn more about our corporate responsibility.
As a conscientious traveler, knowing that The Oswego Hotel cares about environmental sustainability as much as you do is important. We’re a proud part of our community and are actively involved in maintaining the high-quality of life here for visitors and residents alike by engaging in sustainable practices and being a proud member of the Hotel Association of Canada’s Green Key Eco-Ratings program.
We are also a part of the Green Keys Meetings program. The Green Key Meetings Program is a comprehensive assessment tool for eco-friendly lodging and event facilities that host meetings of any size. Shaped by the needs of the business event industry, the Program is an excellent tool for Travel, Meeting and Conference Planners in determining a facility’s level of commitment to environmental issues.
The Green Key Eco-Rating Program is a graduated rating system designed to recognize lodging properties that are committed to improving their fiscal and environmental performance.
As part of our eco-driven philosophy, we maintain a 100% sustainable Ocean Wise seafood menu that protects endangered species, minimizes the impact on the natural marine environment, and limits by-catch.
We are very proud to be partnered with Mealshare, a non-profit dedicated to fighting hunger throughout Canada and around the world.
For every Mealshare branded menu item purchased at our restaurant, one meal will then be provided to a youth in need. Feel good knowing that these meals are provided in very strategic ways in order to facilitate lasting change.
Mealshare partners strictly with organizations that do more than fight hunger; these organizations use food to expose youth to other services like education, job training, and much more. Half the meals provided by Mealshare stay right here in the community, while the other half are provided internationally. There is no extra fee or action required. Just order a Mealshare branded menu item and you’ll be turning your dining out into helping out! Learn more at www.mealshare.ca.
