What does the word Oswego mean?

It means “river’s mouth” in the Iroquois language.

What are the unit types that you offer?

We are an all-suite property! We offer a variety of Studio, One Bedroom and Two Bedroom suites, with the tenth floor boasting our coveted Rooftop units. However you travel, allow our Guest Services team to assist you in selecting the perfect unit type for your visit to Victoria.

What do your suites come equipped with?

Upon entry, luxurious Posturepedic beds await. All units provide a flat screen television with Roku streaming and a 4-piece washroom with a rainfall shower and separate soaker bathtub. All One and Two Bedroom Suites feature a fully equipped gourmet kitchen, pull-out sofa bed, and a private balcony to mimic a condo configuration, while our entry level Studio Suites feature a stove top kitchenette.

Which suites feature balconies?

All suite types, with the exception of Studio suites, guarantee a private balcony; ideal to retreat to for your morning cup of coffee, or after a long, local adventure. It is important to note that although some Studios do feature a balcony, some do not.

Are long stay rates available?

Yes! Our long-stay rate plans are available under the ‘Weekly’ or ‘Monthly’ categories and are offered during the off-season, from mid-October to the end of April. Weekly rates are available for stays of 7-29 nights, whereas Monthly rates require a stay of 30 nights or longer.
Both the Weekly and Monthly Rates include secure underground parking and a customized weekly housekeeping itinerary. Monthly stays, when paid in full, qualify for a complete tax exemption.

Do you offer medical rates?

We have partnered with local hospitals Royal Jubilee and Victoria General to provide short-term medical rates for patients travelling to Victoria for medical appointments. Please contact our Guest Services team directly to further discuss medical rates and availability.

Are the suites air conditioned?

The Oswego Hotel is going Green!

Air conditioning is quickly becoming one of the major polluters throughout the Canadian Summer. As a part of our commitment to environmental sustainability, we have elected to implement eco-conscious solutions instead of air conditioning to keep things cool.

We encourage you to utilize the fans provided in-suite, leave drapes closed during the sunny Victoria days, and open windows in the evening when temperatures naturally lower outside. These measures are tried and tested by the Oswego Team; we are confident that these measures will ensure a cool and comfortable stay.

When can I check in and what time is check out?

Check in time begins at 4:00 PM and check out time 11:00 AM. Should you arrive prior to 4:00 PM, please know that a soft check in is available. At which time, a member of our Guest Services team will begin paperwork, process a pre-authorization, and store any luggage that you wish to leave. Encouraging the exploration of our beautiful city before settling in to your home away from home.

What are the hours of the Guest Services Desk?

7:00 AM to 11:00 PM. After-hours support is available through our onsite Concierge Officer located at the podium in the lobby. Whether you need assistance with a late-night arrival or amenity replenishment, our Concierge Officer is here to help.

Please note: if you have reservation or billing inquiries, you will be asked to redirect those questions to the morning Guest Services Agent arriving on premises at 7:00 AM.

Do you allow pets?

Yes, certain suite types are pet-friendly and can accommodate dogs. We can’t wait to meet your four-legged friend! Prior to arrival, help us welcome them in style by providing our Guest Services team with the following information: name, breed, and if you’d like a dog bed and bowls placed in-suite! This perk is included in the applicable one-time pet fee.

What are the hotel amenities?

Our 24-hour fitness centre is located on the main floor so you can stick to your workout routine during your stay. We also have a cozy Reading Room on the second floor, next door to the Kingston Room, our event and meeting space.

Prefer to be outside? Enjoy our private Outdoor Gardens – stay cozy sitting next to the fire table and pick up a s’mores bundle!

Our restaurant and lounge, Aegir Room, is also on-site! Featuring hand-foraged, local ingredients and West Coast-inspired cuisine. Our convenient Mobile Concierge provides you with around-the-clock access to our Guest Services team, should you have any questions or requests during your stay.

Do you have parking available?

Secure underground self-parking is available for $23 per night. A selection of EV charging stations are available within our underground and are available on a first come first served basis.

Do you have laundry services?

Our self-serve laundry machines are located in the laundry room on the 4th floor of the hotel. Each wash and dry cycle costs $5 – there is a laundry card dispenser in the laundry room that allows you to select a dollar amount and load a laundry card with credit or debit.

A complimentary laundry detergent pack will be provided in your room when you check in.

Do you have complimentary WiFi?

Of course we do! Upon arrival, you will receive our network name and password.

How often will I receive housekeeping services?

A member of our Room Attendant team will stop by daily to provide you with a replenishment service and inquire if additional services are needed, while customized housekeeping schedules and services are created for our long-stay guests. Daily stay-over service takes place between 9:00 AM and 4:00 PM. Please let the Guest Services team know of any time preference requests to note.

What is the cancellation agreement?

For standard reservations, our cancellation agreement states that cancellations, no shows and modifications of any kind made within 48 hours of your arrival date will result in a forfeiture of one night’s room and tax per affected unit.

For Group Rate Plans and reservations of 7 nights or more, a 7-night notice period is required. Cancellations, no shows and modifications of any kind made within 7 days of your arrival date will result in a forfeiture of 7 nights’ room and tax per affected unit.

Does Aegir offer room service?

Aegir, our in-house restaurant, does not offer room service at this time.

How far are you from downtown?

The Oswego Hotel is located a convenient 10-minute walk or 2-minute drive to downtown Victoria! Enjoy the many perks of our downtown core and then retreat to the peace and serenity of our home in James Bay.
