1. What does the word Oswego mean?

It means rivers mouth in Iroquois.

2. What room types do you have?

We are an all-suite property! We offer Studios, One bedroom, Two Bedroom, and our coveted Boutique Penthouse suites.

3. What are the rooms equipped with?

All our rooms have a queen-sized bed, flat-screen television, 4-piece bathroom with walk-in shower and soaker tub, fridge, dishwasher, stove-top and microwave. Our one and two-bedroom suites have fully equipped kitchens and full-sized appliances.

4. Do you have balconies?

Yes, all one and two-bedroom suites have balconies. The majority of studio suites have balconies and are available upon request.

5. Do you have long stay rates?

Yes, we do! We have weekly and monthly rates. All stays of 30 nights or more are tax-exempt if paying in a lump sum at check-in. Our long-stay season is from October 1st to April 30th each year.

6. Do you have medical rates?

Yes, we do. We have partnered with local hospitals Royal Jubilee and Victoria General to provide short-term medical rates for patients traveling to Victoria for medical services.

7. What is check in and check out time?

Check in time is 4 PM and check out time 11 AM. Early check-ins and late check-outs are subject to availability.

8. Are you pet friendly?

Yes, we are! We would love to meet your four-legged friends! We charge a one-time pet fee per reservation and pet bed and food bowls are available upon request.

9. Do you allow cats in the hotel?

Yes, we do! But please inform us when booking your stay because we have limited rooms for cats.

10. What amenities do you have?

We have a fitness center, a beautiful Zen Garden where you can relax and Zen out. We also have an easy-to-use texting feature where you can just text us if you need any amenities during your stay!

11. Do you have parking?

Yes, we do. We have a secure unground parking garage available for $17 per night. We also have free secure Bike Storage available for our more motivated guests.

12. Do you have complimentary WIFI?

Yes, of course, these days who doesn’t?

13. Is housekeeping a service you provide?

Yes, we do provide once weekly housekeeping service to our guests staying over 7 nights as well as an amenity refresh for guests staying over 4 nights. We have suspended daily service in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, in an effort to reduce the risk of transmission by reducing the amount of people going in and out of rooms. We do provide housekeeping service as requested to guests staying less than 7 nights.

14. What COVID protocols are you taking?

We have increased our daily cleaning and sanitization of common spaces and high traffic touch points including doors, elevators, and surfaces. We also implemented a daily health check for all employees to ensure they are feeling well and ready to work each day in addition to weekly testing for all employees. In rooms, we provide antiseptic cleaning wipes for all guests and have increased the allotted time for housekeeping to clean rooms to ensure all touch points are sanitized. Our fitness center is still open with COVID protocols in place including limiting the number of guests in the fitness center to one or one family group in at a time and increased cleaning between appointments. We also require all persons to wear a face covering while in common areas and have installed plexi-glass barriers between guests and staff at the front desk. We have been following the provincial guidelines and industry best practices closely to ensure we are doing our best to protect our guests and staff. We regularly confer with other hotels to share up to date information and best practices.

15. What are your cancellation policies?

Our cancellation policy is 48 hours prior to arrival date. If the reservation is cancelled inside the cancellation date, one night’s room and tax is charged to the credit card on file. For long stay packages, the cancellation policy is 7 days prior to arrival date, if cancelled inside the cancellation dates, 7 night’s room and tax is charged to the credit card on file.

16. Do you have a restaurant?

Yes, our restaurant is called Bar 500. It is an Italian inspired restaurant and staffed by accomplished chef Josh Cocoa, and master mixologist, Mark Roeric.

17. Does bar 500 have room service?

Yes, it does! We are happy to provide room service during restaurant hours.

18. What are the hours of Bar 500?

Monday & Tuesday 8:30 am to 12 pm Cafe Service only

Wednesday to Sunday 8:30 am to 1 pm for Brunch

Thursday to Saturday 5 pm to 9 pm for Dinner

Happy Hour: Friday & Saturday 3 pm to 5 pm

19. Does bar 500 serve alcohol?

Yes, we even have a very experienced Master Mixologist who makes wonderful specialty drinks as well as selection of local Craft Beer. Cheers!

20. How far are you from downtown?

10-minute walk, 2-minute drive!

21. What some attractions in Victoria you love to go to?

Butchart gardens, Whale Watching, Harbour Ferries, The Bug Musuem, and of course, Beacon Hill Park, Ogden Point, and Fisherman’s Warf, which are just minutes away by walk.
